My name is Ward Williams. I’m a third generation towboater and I’ve been at it more than 45 years. I’ve also been woodworking for about 30 years.
When I’m home I make things. I experiment with ideas, and show them to Katie Kaye, my wife. If she just turns and walks away, the burn pile gets more fuel. If she says they have possibilities, they still end up hosting a s’mores party, but I’ll try again after a change or two. Once in a while she’ll give me a thumbs up. Some of the lucky ones are what you’ll see on these pages.
Here you’ll find three basic types of gifts. Personalized, general, and things I make on a whim.
Personalized gifts require your input to make them perfect. We have designs that allow us to incorporate names, and/or whatever text you want, provided it fits in the space available, along with your favorite boat photo. These designs will be available into the future with new designs added often. Because I’m still a working towboater these gifts can take some time to receive. Order early. Two or three months ahead of time is a good idea. My shop sits idle half the time, and these goodies take time to make when I do get home. We’ll never rush a project for the sake of getting another one out the door. ORDER EARLY.
General gifts are not personalized, but are geared to towboaters. This section will be somewhat fluid. Non-personalized carvings should be available pretty much anytime without too much of a wait, however items such as Tee-Shirts may be subject to the limitations of our own inventory, or supply chain issues. We will do our best to keep items available as we learn more about the demand for these products. We have many new design ideas and are anxious to roll them out, but with so many colors to choose from and size options to consider, it’s difficult to know where to start, and how much to invest in all these possibilities. Come back often to check for updates.
Katie’s Corner. Obviously we cater to towboaters, but from time to time, if Katie ain’t lookin’, I’ll make something just because I feel like it. It may or may not be towboat related, but if Katie Kaye gives me the high sign, you may see it here, in Katie’s Corner. Items found here may be a one-time offering, or made of some material we found a bargain on and decided to share it with you. If it’s in Katie’s corner, it’s worth a look.
